Chinese New Year 2009

Happy Chinese New Year!

Now in response to all those many people who are confused about what race i am and what festival do i celebrate, yes i am part Chinese (hence my Chinesey look) and yes i do celebrate.. but not by open housing.:) We have the usual CNY eve dinner with my Chinese side of the family. No pictures tho, sorry.
As usual, i attempted to take photos of the fireworks, but they are damn hard to photograph!! Unless maybe if you have a super good camera and super good photography skillz.:) But these are some of my favourites that i managed to capture:

This year i didn't go visiting to as many houses as i normally do because my grandmum was hospitalized and my parents were't so in the mood. My grandma's ok now lah. And i did manage to visit a few of my friends so not so bad lah. Also, we all met up at my cousin's place on the first night. "We all" meaning the not Chinese side. Confusing? One day i'll draw out my family tree so you can see.
Coincidentally, my cousin and i wore the same colour.

"Look! They come in a set!" Deborah said.

We attacked each other...

My sis, who didn't bother to dress up this year cos she spent the day looking after my grandma in hospital. I'm not sayin she doesn't look good lah.

Deborah my wacko cousin!

I had alot of fun lah despite my grandma being in hospital and all.. Next week school reopening and there'll be plenty of work. :(
Have a happy Chinese New Year 2009!

Rare Update :)

I don't even remember what's the last thing i blogged about and i'm too lazy to check. :) But school has been hectic this past [nearly one] month. Everyday it's going early to school and leaving late, rushing to finish my homework before dashing off to tuition at night.. So exhausting! And plan plan plan for RC, prefect's, badminton, Interact.. but i like being busy. :)

So anyway one of my RC members from school asked for an update on my blog, so i thought i'd just write one.

We had prefects' interview today.. started at around 8am and we finished around 1.30pm.. Still have a few more for tomorrow.. Who knew interviewing could be so exhausting! I went to the Club for lunch and then to gym.. I've started a new program already for those who don't know. :) But now it involves more difficult things which include pulling weights.. Not that i pull very heavy ones, but when u have to do many different kinds of weight-pulling over and over and over in a day, it gets pretty tiring. :( But it's ok, i enjoy that too. :)

Weeell i'm not exactly sure why people wanna read my blog cos i think this post is pretty boring.. But it was nice of my friend to request. :) And i reaaally should not be blogging right now because i'm skipping tuition tonight bcos i'm tired and i got so much homework for today that a need to catch up with.. :(((

Can't wait to start MARCHING! :)

And i LOVE America's Suiteheart by Fall Out Boy!!

New Year's Eve

At Granny's as usual. We had dinner there and then stayed on til Midnight. I brought my difficult IQ set there to play while waiting for midnight. Fisrt we did the Extremely Diificult Puzzle.
This stupid puzzle took us a few hours to complete. There's no guide picture, it's double sided, both sides are the same picture, and the entire picture is just an assortment of nuts.

The outline of the puzzle was quite oklar.. but omg the rest of it was so difficult. We had to try to fit the pieces one by one into place.. over and over again..

Well it was good larh, it was the highlight of the night.:) After that we played a sort of difficult snakes and ladders like. We had to answer very difficult questions to climb up the ropes(ladders) or to prevent from sliding down the crevase(snake). And then we there were avalanches as well. If you couldn't answer questions on those, you just start all over at square one. Sad, isn't it..

So after cracking our heads the whole night, we finally took a break to countdown to the New Year! I took a sip of wine after clinking glasses with everyone, and then passed the whole glass to my dad.:) I don't like wine. I only drink alot at dinners to annoy my mum.:D

My family with my grandma.

And now it's a New Year and i hope my resolutions will work out again! Last year i only made one, that was to work harder in school (after my terrible PMR results) and i did manage to do it.. not as well as i hoped, but still quite good.. i'm still waiting to confirm my biggest reward.:) It might not seem like much, but doing reasonably ok in school has always been a problem for me, and i am quite proud of waht i did this year, despite it not being that great lah. Hehe. Hope this year i can do better.:)

DOULOS

I took part in this mural painting competition for Doulos (the bookshop-on-the-ship, in case you don't know..) with Joanna, Maryann, Elaine and Lysandra. I can't remember when it was. 11th December i think. They had about 20+ other teams competing as well.

That's our mural.:) I did the waves. Lots of people liked it.:D

I didn't get to go on the ship that day cos there wasn't time. Or maybe i was too lazy and had no money. So my dad brought me there on Wednesday. And Martin brought me again the next day.:) When i went with Martin, we were given a tour.:)

Us in the Engine Room.
We were brought around by this Japanese girl. Her name's Kanako, and she's really nice and pretty.:) Another man went with us as well.
Hmm. Why am i the shortest there.
I'm so glad we went for the tour! We probably won't see this ship anymore.:( They're gonna stop Doulos in 2010 because it's too old, and i don't think it'll come back to Malaysia before then.. Good thing it came when i'm old enough to remember it.:) I wanna watch it sail off.:)

Mum & Dad's Anniversary

26th December. Married for 23 years. :)

Family dinner at Magenta.

Happy (very belated) Anniversary Mum & Dad!!

Christmas 2008

Christmas means CAROLING! And this year's caroling was fun of course.. many practices tho and was kinda hard to manage cos i had so many activities this hols.. but still could go for almost all the practices so that's ok!

The nights were fun.. noisy.. made a few new friends.:) And got to know a few people better..

My guardian angel this year.:) Andrie! He gave me ALOT of packet drinks every night.. Hmm..

Our traditional family photo before midnight mass. This year we didn't have to use the timer on my camera and stack the cam up on books because my mum asked Martin over to see our Christmas deco.:) So he helped us take a picture.

Martin & I after Mass.

Presents this year.. My dad got me this IQ set which has puzzles beyond my mental capacity.:( Mum got me a really nice cat shirt. And i know it's very expensive so thank you Mummy! Rachel got me monkey heads which are supposed to fit over keys or something. I wonder why Rachel loves to get me monkey stuff.

And as usual we spent the day at my grandma's place. Maurice & i went to put up the hammock at the back garden but it was too much trouble so we kinda gave up in the end.. We did manage to lie on it for awhile tho, altho we were very squashed.. Mau didn't bring his hammock.. Lucky mine is quite big..
